Special Needs Center
Located in Erbil, Iraq, this center was founded in 2019 with a heart to serve children with difficulties stemming from things such as cerebral palsy, autism, behavioral challenges, down syndrome, speech challenges, etc., and their families. The center's desire is to convey love, tenderness, and acceptance to these children and families regardless of their religion, background, or culture. Currently, there is a school component to the center where children go to receive specialized educational training focused on helping them with whatever challenge they are facing be it speech, communication, behavioral, etc. There is also a physical therapy component to the center where certain children participate in physical therapy sessions. This is a charity based center where families are charged very little to attend. Your support to this project may be used in a variety of ways including but not limited to straight financial support to the center, purchasing custom fit braces for children, purchasing of medical/school equipment that would be helpful to have, etc. Our goal is to raise 25k by the end of the year for this project.
Ihan Dialysis Project
Ihan was a precious little boy that came to the Special Needs Center and sadly passed away. Ihan had a heart surgery and was working on building up his strength and stamina at the center. Ihan became very sick and went into acute kidney failure, and while there were many factors potentially that led to that point and maybe it could have been avoided, what breaks my heart is eventually it seemed that Ihan needed dialysis for his kidneys because of the kidney failure. There is no pediatric dialysis center in all of Erbil (and it appears all of the Kurdistan region of Iraq) for children under 6 years of age (and the children over 6 years of age don't have a children's center but go to the adult center), and there wasn't enough time to process the paperwork needed to get him as a Syrian refugee approval to go to Baghdad where there is. The point of this is not to blame anyone as there were many factors involved, but the main thing that really pierced my heart was the fact pediatric dialysis wasn't even an option here because there was none for him. As an organization, we have decided to take on this project in honor of Ihan. Through amazing partnerships with various peoples/groups, this project has been approved by the local government and is officially underway as far as fundraising goes. A stateside non profit we are working with, Bridge of Life, has decided to do their own fundraiser for the initial startup costs of the project. People that want to donate to that can find the link on our giving page. We are not quite sure yet what our role will be financially with this project, but we are still collecting and saving funds as well. Our Jesus is a Jesus of restoration, and He will bring restoration with this I believe. We need help. Thank you for considering joining us in this endeavor.
